CFP: Computers & Writing 2010 (an online & onsite conference)

Dave Blakesley writes to pass along the following CFP, which has a due date of Saturday, 10/31/2009:

Next spring Purdue will host Computers & Writing 2010 (http://www.digitalparlor.org/cw2010), an international conference dedicated to exploring how evolving technologies affect how we create, network, and write in the digital age. Other topics include pedagogies of teaching and learning to communicate, social networking, gaming and gaming communities, and new challenges to traditional understandings of writing and communication technologies. We invite you to participate in this innovative conference.

The deadline for submitting proposals falls on October 31, 2009 (extended from Oct. 23). Read the CFP and submit a proposal for either the onsite or online conference (or both): http://www.digitalparlor.org/cw2010/cfp

This year’s conference theme is “Virtual Worlds.” We invite proposals on social media and writing, emerging writing technologies, gaming, technology and literacies, new media, digital rhetorics, and more. There are a variety of ways to participate in this conference, including individual proposals, panel proposals, poster sessions, half and full day workshops, mini-workshops, dynamic “deliverator” talks, installations, and (for the online conference) in webinars, Second Life, and other virtual spaces. Some events will take place on Purdue’s Island in Second Life. Read these directions about how to get to Purdue in Second Life: http://www.digitalparlor.org/pwenglish/secondlife
